Stephen Ormandy

Australian artist and designer Stephen Ormandy was commissioned to create a sculptural centerpiece for the Shenzhen Bay MixC Bookstore, a retail space designed to highlight learning, discovery and imagination. 

Ormandy’s work titled Bookmark is a vertical sculpture of stacked alphabet shapes that are translated into a complex three-dimensional arrangement of curved surfaces.

Utilizing the artist’s signature geometric aesthetic, the artwork was fabricated by UAP in the contrasting materials of wood veneer and laser-cut stainless steel, creating a focal point that is both playful and thoughtful within the retail environment.
